Description

Pump gas molecules to a box and see what happens as you change the volume, add or remove heat, change gravity, and more. Measure the temperature and pressure, and discover how the properties of the gas vary in relation to each other.

Sample Learning Goals
  • Predict how changing a variable among PVT, and number influences other gas properties.
  • Predict how changing temperature will affect the speed of molecules.
  • Rank the speed of molecules in thermal equilibrium based on the relative masses of molecules.

This interactive learning activity is aligned with Solomon Islands Year Seven Science Curriculum:

  • Strand: Natural and Processed Materials
  • Sub-strand: 7.3 Solids, Liquids, and Gases
  • General Learning Outcome:
    • 7.3.3 be able to investigate physical changes (s)
  • Specific Learning Outcome:
    • 7.3.3.1 investigate the changes caused by heating and cooling of solids, liquids, and gases
