Perimeter is a path or distance that surrounds an area. The distance around 2-dimensional objects can be determined by actually measuring or estimating their lengths with the units used, and must be converted so that they are expressed as one unit. Calculating the perimeter has considerable practical applications where errors are inevitable in the process. The perimeter of a wheel (circle – its circumference), describes how far it will roll in one revolution. Humans do commit errors in the process of measuring but can be calculated and determined.
